The purpose of this website is to provide some structure in an effort to record my families Marchisa and Toman history. The effort started in 2009 after my sister Rose (Marchisa) Luglio discovered a box of 8mm tapes that our mom, Ellen (Toman) Marchisa had kept for years. The tapes were digitally converted and turned out to be mostly home movies taken by Francis Toman, Ellen’s brother. The home movies were taken from 1946 through the early 60’s. Clips from some of the movies were included in a video that I made for a mini Toman family reunion in Florida during 2009.
The video conversion effort led to an idea to scan old photos and construct a way of preserving the digitally converted family memories. This effort ultimately led to a genealogy effort in the summer of 2014 and a family tree project was started using Ancestry.com. The www.marchisa-toman.com website is the bringing together of all of the family history focused efforts.
