When Ronald James Saglio was born on September 6, 1929, in Hebron, Connecticut, his father, Romolo, was 27 and his mother, Elvira, was 19. He married Lois Elizabeth Taylor on November 7, 1953, in Portland, Connecticut. Ronald and Lois had three children, Joan, Janet, and Peter, during their marriage. Ronald died on November 28, 2025, in Marlborough, Connecticut at the age of 96. Ronald spent most of his early adult years working a dairy farm with his father Romolo. They raised Holstein cows , (about 100 on a farm property of about 200 acres), and were an early adopter of mechanized milking equipment. Ronald was very active in his “retirement” as a school bus driver and a member of the Hebron Volunteer Fire Department. Ronald had a keen interest in vintage cars and for many years stored them both in his barn and even in the basement of his house!
