Colleen Toman Wood

The following was sent to me by Laura Wood, Coleen’s daughter born in 1989.

“My mom Coleen was a huge collector of toys, hot wheels, pez, lunch boxes and beanie babies. She loved looking at antiques and collectibles. She would look at price evaluations in books just like Uncle Jim. She and I shared a lot of the same hobbies from what i know her mom was a collector of toys too and I know Jim was. She loved mustangs cars especially a 1968 mustang. She loved muscle cars. She enjoyed going to the State Fairs especially to see the monster trucks. She liked to ride the ferris wheel and she loved peacocks. My mom Colleen was about 17 when she and grandma Emily and Uncle John lived in Honolulu Hawaii for maybe four months. She loved it there, especially Waikiki Beach. She also lived in Kissimmee, Florida. She so enjoyed the weather in both states. My mom loved Elvis Presley and my grandma Emily did too from what Uncle John told me. Blue Hawaii was my mom’s favorite Elvis Presley movie and Jailhouse Rock. She loved ice cream and sweets and hamburgers and chicken. She loved Price is Right and Wheel of Fortune and I Love Lucy show. She loved her 50’s and 60’s malt shop oldies music. She loved listening to records and collecting them as well. Her favorite song was “Grazing in the Grass” by The Friends Of Distinction.
